Don’t forget that Aetna recently announced it was excluding fully insured commercial plans in all 50 states from its new telehealth policy eliminating coverage for audio-only and asynchronous telehealth services. The new coverage exclusions will only apply to self-insured/ERISA plans.

Aetna for 2024 will only cover visual telehealth services, codes 99212-99215 with modifier 95. They no longer cover audio telehealth 99441-99443 unless prior authorization is obtained.
